King's Bridge, water color and pen on paper, 3x3 inch.

Tiny art in tiny packaging. I am working on a new series of book projects launching July 21st that will include these little water-colored sketches of life in the Bronx from the late 17th century. This is one of them.

Did you know that the first European settler to buy land in what is now known as Westchester County in New York was Jonas Bronck and that is why we say "the Bronx" when referring to that borough, since back then if you were going there, you were going to visit the Bronck's.

More sketches on flickr.
